Hermosa Beach, California: June 13, 1946 A wing section of Howard Hughes' flying boat, the eight engine HK-1, passes through Hermosa Beach on its way to the dock at Long Beach where it will be assembled. The other wing section follows further up the road as school children leave their classrooms to come outside and watch.
