"Isaac and Rosa, Slave Children from New Orleans" Portrait of Isaac White and Rosina "Rosa" Downs standing arm-in-arm, facing front. As part of a propaganda campaign to garner sympathy for the cause of emancipation for the Negro slaves, white children were in a number of instances, photographed and portrayed as slave children themselves. Photograph taken ca. 1863.
