Since 1930, the inhabitants of the municipality have made it a tradition to sew and vulcanize leather soccer balls, becoming the true owners of a craft technique that has taken these balls to soccer leagues inside and outside the country. Monguí is a municipality with a rich colonial heritage. Recognized as one of the most beautiful towns in Colombia, it preserves its traditional architecture with cobblestone streets, tiled-roof houses, and balconies adorned with flowers. Monguí is part of Colombia's Network of Heritage Towns.
