A cathedral exhibition of sculptures depicting "real people" has attracted hundreds of visitors to Ely Caythedral. Sean Henry's "Am I My Brother's Keeper?" exhibition opened recently at Ely Cathedral. Mr Henry's 28 artworks are between 38cm (15in) and 3m (9ft 8in) high and include examples of "polychrome" art - a style in which figures can be painted to give a realistic impression. One sculpture of a weary-looking man in a grey suit had to be transported on the back of a lorry and lifted into place by crane. Sean Henry graduated in Ceramics from Bristol Polytechnic in 1987 and had his first solo exhibition in London in 1988. He won the Villiers David Prize in 1998 and has exhibited and installed his works from as far afield as the Arctic Circle in Norway to the South Island of New Zealand. His sculptures can be found in museums and public collections in Norway, Sweden, France, the UK, USA and Germany, and he has been represented by Osborne Samuel Gallery in London since 1999.
