The Ed Sullivan Theater on Broadway in New York where the Late Show with David Letterman is taped is seen on Thursday, February 6, 2014 with a marquee duplicating the marquee 50 years ago when the Beatles made their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. February 9, 1964 Beatlemania was started when the British invaders appeared in front of an audience of 73 million viewers on CBS's Ed Sullivan Show. At the time the theater was known as Studio 50.
