06 May 2024, Saxony, Leipzig: Industrial robots work on the body for an all-electric Porsche Macan at the Leipzig plant. The official launch of electromobility in Leipzig was celebrated on the same day. The sports car manufacturer has invested around 600 million euros in the expansion of the plant. The new Macan is the second all-electric Porsche model. The Leipzig plant is designed for maximum flexibility in the future. Gasoline, hybrid and fully electric vehicles will run on a shared production line. Porsche aims to deliver more than 80 percent of new vehicles with purely electric drive systems by 2030.
