CPE/November 5, 2011 - Menton (FR) - Frederic Mitterrand, Frech Minister of Culture, opened the new Jean Cocteau Museum, Severin Wunderman collection, in Menton, southeastern France. This wonderful construction is the work of the architect Rudy Ricciotti, started in 2008. It cost about 12 million euros Severin Wunderman, and his family, gave about 1800 works of art including 990 from Jean Cocteau. Jean Cocteau came in Menton for the first time in 1955 during holidays in St Jean Cap Ferrat. He immediatly loved this city and he returned often during his life. And fo example, in 1956 the former mayer of Menton, Francis Palermo, asked Jean Cocteau to decorate the weeding room of the city hall of the city. When he finished it, in 1958, he became 'Citizen of Honor' of Menton., Credit:Pacific Coast News / Olivier Huitel
