KYIV, UKRAINE - APRIL 30, 2024 - Workers are dismantling the monument commemorating the Pereiaslav Agreement under the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People, formerly known as the Peoples’ Friendship Arch, in Kyiv, capital of Ukraine. The monument represents the ceremonial pledge of allegiance by Cossacks to the Tsar of Russia that took place in the town of Pereiaslav in January 1654. (Ukrinform/POLARIS)
