North Korea said on April 3 that it successfully test-fired a new type of intermediate-range solid-fueled ballistic missile equipped with a newly-developed hypersonic glide warhead, adding that all missiles developed by the North Korea now have solid fuel and nuclear warhead control capabilities. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un guided the testing of the Hwasongpho-16B on April 2, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). The South Korean military said on April 2 it detected the firing of an IRBM from the North Korea's Pyongyang region and the missile flew about 600 kilometers before falling into the East Sea.
