13 May 2024, Brandenburg, Seelow: Trees of the common robinia (Robinia pseudoacacia) are full of white blossoms. This year, the trees, which have only been native to Germany since the 17th century, are once again blooming beautifully. Robinia is valued today for its wood, which is stronger than oak. It is used to make playground equipment as well as furniture. Bees collect nectar from the flowers and produce the coveted robinia honey. The robinia is very similar to the acacia and is therefore often confused. Photo: Patrick Pleul/dpa/ZB
