Croatian motorcyclist Loris Majcan is the second Croatian after Emil Mokrovcak (1997) to compete in the prestigious Isle of Man TT motorcycle race. The Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) is a legendary motorcycle race that takes place on the Isle of Man, in the Irish Sea between Northern Ireland and Great Britain. The Isle of Man TT is one of the most famous and dangerous motorcycle races in the world. The race has been held since 1907, and to date a total of 269 motorcyclists have died on the island of Man. Loris will compete on a Yamaha R6 motorcycle in the supersport 600 class. He rides four laps per track, the circuit is 60.73 kilometers long and has a total of 248 turns. Last year, the Englishman Peter Hickman drove the biggest lap by 16m 36.114s at an average speed of 219.447 km/h. On flat parts of the track, speeds exceed 300 km/h. The track is an ordinary road that is closed to traffic during the race. As there are no excursion zones, drivers have to be as concentrated as possible because any fall can cost them their lives or serious injuries, in Grobnik, Croatia, on April 4, 2024.
