29 April 2024, Brandenburg, Beelitz: Purple asparagus grows on an asparagus field at Jakobs-Höfe and is inspected by asparagus farmer Jürgen Jakobs, Chairman of the Beelitz Asparagus Association. Contact with sunlight results in the dark purple coloration due to the release of the pigment anthocyanin.
