Pierre Salinger, President John F. Kennedy's press secretary and later ABC's European correspondent, has died of heart failure in France at the age of 79. Salinger, who had been in declining health for four years, died on Saturday, October 16, 2004 from heart failure following surgery last week at a hospital in Cavaillon to implant a pacemaker./0410171717
