In 1955, August A. Busch, Jr. introduced Busch Bavarian Beer on National television and was also the first time a Busch family member appeared in a television commercial. Anheuser-Busch is marking this 50-year anniversary with commemorative cans and bottles that will be available through August 2005. In 1979, Anheuser-Busch dropped Bavarian from its name.
