Caption:
28 March 2023, Brandenburg, Lebus: Adonis florets bloom on the Oder slope near the German-Polish border river Oder. The mild temperatures and warm sun rays of the last few days have led to the first Adonis florets blooming. The area between Lebus on the Oder River and Mallnow on the Oderbruch border in East Brandenburg is one of the largest contiguous Adonis rose areas in Europe. In Brandenburg, these strictly protected species only occur on the Pontic slopes north of Frankfurt (Oder). For the poisonous flowers, the area was declared a Trockerasen nature reserve in 1984.
