PRODUCTION - 23 September 2022, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Sassnitz: The last visitors go up a wooden staircase to the viewing platform of the chalk cliff Königsstein on the island of Rügen. (Exception with extreme wide-angle lens) On Sept. 25, 2022, the lookout point on the 118-meter-high rock will be closed to visitors forever. After a three-day farewell program, the chalk cliff will be closed for the construction of the new Königsweg. In the future, the new structure suspended from a mast will hover above the rock, protecting it from erosion. Photo: Jens Büttner/dpa
