05 July 2023, Saxony, Leipzig: Two copper bell men chime the time on three large bells on the Kroch tower in the city center. Based on their 520-year-old models in Venice - the bellmen on the clock tower in St. Mark's Square - they have been striking the hours every day since 1928. The 3.30 meter tall bell-ringer sculptures with the three bells were designed by sculptor Joseph Wackerle and inaugurated in 1928. It was considered the largest tower chime in the world. Banker Kroch had his house designed according to the Venetian model. Photo: Waltraud Grubitzsch/dpa
