26 April 2024, Brandenburg, Schwarze Pumpe: View of the construction site for the H2-ready gas-fired power plant project at the Schwarze Pumpe industrial site on the border between Brandenburg and Saxony (aerial view with a drone). LEAG is planning extensive investments in H2-ready gas-fired power plants at its power plant sites in Brandenburg, Saxony and Bavaria to cover generation gaps in the wake of the German coal phase-out. Provided that construction and operation can be economically viable within the power plant strategy still to be developed, an H2-ready gas-fired power plant could be built at the Schwarze Pumpe energy site. LEAG is currently preparing the construction site on a suitable company-owned area within the Schwarze Pumpe industrial park for possible construction. Photo: Patrick Pleul/dpa
