17 October 2019, Schleswig-Holstein, Tappendorf: Peter Belz, head of the Tappendorf Horse Clinic, uses a prototype to demonstrate the function of a lightning test for equine diseases. With the minilab developed by researchers from Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, infections can be detected within 15 to 30 minutes. Previously, the samples had to be sent to laboratories and the results only came after three to five days. Photo: Carsten Rehder/dpa
