08 August 2022, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Vellahn: Tanja Günther, founder of the animal welfare organization "Land der Tiere", feeds rabbits that live in a spacious enclosure with chickens and turkeys. The rabbits come from a private breeder who, for health reasons, could no longer care for the animals. Currently, about 180 animals live on the approximately 13-hectare site. The animals come, for example, from farm animal husbandry or from private individuals who were overwhelmed with the care. The donor-funded farm has been built since 2014 on a former site of the National People's Army of the GDR (NVA). Photo: Jens Büttner/dpa
