The discovery site a Russian tank type T 34 is pictured in Rostock, Germany, 17 November 2011. Experts are excavating the WWII wreck and salvaging the, as of yet, unsecured munitions. It was discovered by construction workers near the Schleusen Bridge on Muehldamm. It is a T 34 tank used in the invasion on the 1st of May 1945 by the 65th army of the 2nd Belarussian front in Rostock. Apparently, it was sent ahead to scout out the situation on the Muehlendamm and was destroyed when German soldiers destroyed the bridge. Photo: Robert Schlesinger
