12 September 2024, Saxony, Chemnitz: Shortly before the departure of the European Peace Ride (EPR) team, prominent former cyclists Jens Voigt and Hanka Kupfernagel stand next to the special Erzgebirgsbahn train on the platform in Chemnitz. The 200 or so cyclists are traveling by train to this year's European Capital of Culture in Bad Ischl/Salzkammergut. The tour starts there on Friday and the cyclists are scheduled to arrive in Chemnitz on Sunday afternoon.
