On the evening of 29 May 2016 a massive landslide caused by a storm engulfed the town with rubble, destroying it. The pictures by dpa photgrapher Marijan Murat won the 2nd place in the Series category of the dpa-foto competition "Picture of the year 2016". The dpa (German Press Agency) has awarded prizes for its "Picture of the Year" for the 16th year. An independent jury awards prizes for the top pictures by the dpa's foto service.
