17 June 2025, Spain, Esporles: The town council of Esporles has released five Mallorcan donkeys - named Mona, Pepa, Llum, Barrera and Curra - into the stream to eat the grass. This is to prevent disasters such as fires and floods. The native donkey breed "Somera Mallorquina" is considered to be very trusting and feeds on weeds, which helps to clean up the forests and thus reduces the risk of forest fires.
