24 January 2025, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schwerin: Matthias Warnig, former Managing Director of Nord Stream 2 AG, is being questioned as a witness before the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state parliament's committee of inquiry into the MV Climate Foundation. The committee wants to clarify the circumstances surrounding the construction of the pipeline for Russian natural gas, which was completed at the end of 2021 but did not go into operation shortly afterwards due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
