17 June 2025, Lower Saxony, Hanover: A bee flies next to borage (cucumber herb) in the poisonous plant bed in the apothecary garden at the Hanover School Biology Center. The herb and flowers of borage can contain poisonous pyrrolizidine alkaloids. For 25 years, the pharmacy garden has been providing knowledge about the effects of native medicinal plants, their correct use and the limits of self-treatment.
