29 September 2021, Hessen, Lorsch: The so-called Gate Hall or King's Hall with its world-famous colourful sandstone façade rises in front of a park-like area and is the only preserved building of Lorsch Monastery from the Carolingian period. The magnificent gate hall is one of the most famous examples of early medieval architecture. The site has been a Unesco World Heritage Site for 30 years.
