04 June 2023, Saxony-Anhalt, Volkstedt: The tailings pile, which can be climbed by visitors, consists of 8.5 million cubic meters of barren rubble and stones. The dump belongs to the former "Fortschritt" copper mine shaft near Volkstedt. With a height of 153 meters, it is even a good 14 meters higher than the Cheops Pyramid in Egypt.
