01 February 2023, Saxony-Anhalt, Halberstadt: Excavation workers from the Saxony-Anhalt State Office for the Preservation of Monuments and Archaeology cover a pit with cattle bones to protect the excavation site from the weather. About 3.5 meters away from this grave, the archaeologists discovered a stone box grave in which further grave goods were found. The findings indicate that a special person was buried there. The 4800 year old grave was discovered during excavations in the run-up to the settlement of the truck manufacturer Daimler Truck. The excavations will continue until the end of March. According to the archaeologist, the settlement is not endangered. Photo: Klaus-Dietmar Gabbert/dpa
