PRODUCTION - 25 January 2023, Saxony-Anhalt, Wernigerode: A locomotive is loaded with coal at the operating site of the Harzer Schmalspurbahnen GmbH. Due to the energy crisis, the Harzer Schmalspurbahnen had to rely on new coal suppliers. At the moment, a ton of hard coal costs about 600 euros. A large part of the steam locomotives is operated with hard coal. According to HSB, about 6000 tons went through the furnace in one year. Photo: Matthias Bein/dpa
