28 September 2022, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lubmin: The pipeline hub in Lubmin is currently being rebuilt in view of the lack of gas supplies from Russia. According to the network operator Gascade, it is working on the piping of a receiving station in Lubmin on its premises. From Lubmin, the NEL pipelines run to the west and the OPAL and EUGAL to the south. In addition, the two Baltic Sea pipelines coming from Russia, Nord Stream 1 and 2, end here. Both double strings are damaged after a suspected act of sabotage in the Baltic Sea.Whereas in the past the gas came mainly from the east, it now comes from the west and is then routed further south.
