27 September 2022, Brandenburg, Groß Schönebeck: A red deer ready to mate throws a branch with its antlers through the enclosure in the Schorfheide Game Park. On 01.10.2022 a wolf night takes place in the Schorfheide Game Park. Then the game park has opened until 24 o'clock. With flashlights, visitors can be present when the wolves, otters and red deer are fed at night. Then on 02.10.2022 the traditional deer festival takes place. On this day everything revolves around the red deer. Together with the Chorin end moraine arc, the landscape of the Schorfheide forms one of the largest protected areas in Germany, the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve, founded in 1990. Extensive forests, meadows, moors and swamps, lakes and rivers make up the charm of this landscape formed by the ice age. Photo: Patrick Pleul/dpa/ZB
