25 September 2022, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lubmin: Activists from Ukraine protest with their placards against the opening of the German-Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream 2. On the same day, 3000 people took part in a demonstration demanding the opening of the German-Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream 2. Nord Stream 2 runs from Russia to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The gas pipeline has been completed, but after the Russian attack on Ukraine, the German government had ruled out putting it into operation. Russia is currently no longer sending gas to Germany via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, which runs largely in parallel, citing technical reasons. The German government considers this justification to be a pretext. Photo: Stefan Sauer/dpa
