30 April 2024, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Malchin: Since Tuesday, three stone chairs by Berlin sculptor Michael Spengler have commemorated a former synagogue from the 18th century in Malchin in a street not far from the town hall. The building was acquired by the Catholic church after the Jewish community was dissolved in the mid-1920s and used as a chapel, but was destroyed in the town fire on April 30, 1945.
