26 April 2024, Rhineland-Palatinate, Mainz: A cyclist rides on a road with a bicycle pictogram. The state capital is currently running a five-year pilot project with pictogram chains on roadways. The illustrations are intended to sensitize motorists to the fact that cyclists may also be on the road. However, the State Mobility Agency (LBM) has instructed the Rhineland-Palatinate local authorities to remove the bicycle pictograms again, as these are not provided for in the national Road Traffic Regulations (StVO).
