26 April 2024, Saxony-Anhalt, Halle (Saale): An employee of the Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovoltaics CSP shows a fully contacted cell string in which the contacts have been bonded rather than soldered. The new bonding process replaces the conventional soldering of the modules. On the same day, companies, service providers and research institutes from the East German solar industry founded a cluster called "Spot on". This is intended to promote networking and thus strengthen eastern Germany as a solar location. Photo: Jan Woitas/dpa
