19 May 2022, Thuringia, Jena: "Genetic engineering workspace" is written on a door in the new Biotech Center of the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology - Hans Knöll Institute on the day of its opening. The modern research building offers over 2,000 square meters of space for a total of 80 employees. The research groups are to develop new active substances and therapy concepts in the fight against infectious diseases and rampant antibiotic resistance on the basis of biotechnological processes.
