OMSK, RUSSIA — FEBRUARY 14, 2021: People light candles placed in the shape of a heart during an unauthorised protest in support of jailed opposition activist Alexei Navalny. The protest was titled "Love is stronger than fear". Navalny, who had been wanted in Russia since December 2020 for violating probation conditions in the Yves Rocher case, was detained at Sheremetyevo Airport near Moscow on his return to Russia from Germany on 17 January 2021. On 18 January, Moscow Region’s Khimki Court ruled that Navalny be put into custody until 15 February 2021. On 2 February, Simonovsky District Court ruled that Navalny’s suspended sentence be converted to a real jail term. Yevgeny Sofiychuk/TASS
