Another piece of forest in Amelisweerd is being cut down for the widening of the A27 in Utrecht. At least 800 trees will fall on both sides of the bin. In 1982, during the construction of the A27, 600 trees had to make way; now Amelisweerd is down again. A strip of valuable forest with tall old trees will be destroyed. There are oaks that are more than 150 years old.
