Adherents of the Rastafari sect play a drum and sing during the groups special prayer and worship meeting at Menengai forest in Bahati near Nakuru Town. The Nakuru Rastafari community has decried governments decision to introduce genetic modified crops in Kenya, saying the country is blessed with availability of fertile land. They are asking the government to sink more boreholes to increase irrigation instead of allowing GM seeds. A few months after President William Ruto took over government, he announced the reversal of a 10 year ban on the GM crop growing to address food security caused by consecutive years of failed rains. According to a survey by Root to Food Initiative, a non-governmental organization, 57% of Kenyans do not welcome GMOs over health concerns. (Photo by James Wakibia / SOPA Images/Sipa USA)
