Members of the New York City Police Department arrest Nerdeen Kiswani, organizer of the pro-Palestine activism group, "Within Our Lifetime." Pro-Palestine demonstrators rallied in Manhattan, New York City condemning the Israel Defense Forces' military operations in Gaza. White House officials said they are communicating with Israeli officials to prepare for a possible retaliatory strike by Iran against Israel. The possible retaliation could be in response to an Israeli airstrike that killed multiple top Iranian military commanders in Syria on April 1. Since the war started on October 7, 2023, Gaza's health ministry said more than 33,000 people have been killed in Gaza, a territory ruled by Hamas.
