In Berlin, Germany, on April 6, 2024, a significant demonstration took place opposing Al-Quds Day and expressing a stance against antisemitism. The event mirrored similar protests in Frankfurt, where a large number of individuals gathered to show their solidarity with Israel and the Jewish community. Participants were seen waving both Israeli and Iranian flags, signifying a broad base of support. The demonstration was, however, met with interruptions from pro-Palestine protesters who attempted to disrupt the event with shouts and slogans. The pro-Palestine demonstrators, known activists who had participated in numerous unregistered sit-ins in recent weeks, including at Berlin's Central Station, voiced their opposition with chants such as "Zionism is a crime, get your hands off Palestine," "No peace on stolen land," and "Free Palestine." These pro-Palestine activists, previously reported by media for their antisemitic rhetoric in unregistered sit-ins, including at Berlin's Central Station, have been known to shout slogans such as "Israel is a terrorist state" and "We want 48," advocating for a return to the pre-1948 borders. The pro-Israel rally, which was organized under the theme of standing against antisemitism, proceeded from Adenauerplatz to Wittenbergplatz and was heavily escorted by police forces to maintain order and prevent clashes between the opposing groups.
