Ironmonger Row Baths, Ironmonger Row, St Luke's, Islington, Greater London Authority, 2013. Looking up towards the roof light above the stairwell in the refurbished Ironmonger Row Baths, Islington. The baths were built in two phases by Finsbury Borough Council. The first phase, designed by Alfred William Stephens Cross and Kenneth Mervyn Baskerville Cross and completed in 1931, consisted of a laundry and slipper baths. The second phase, designed by K M B Cross, opened in 1938 and included the main pool, children's pool, and Turkish baths. Many original features remain despite renovations in the early 21st century, which cost £16.5 million and were led by Tim Ronalds Architects. The building was reopened in 2012. AiWire
