The New York City Police Department arrests a pro-Palestine demonstrator during a pro-Palestine rally outside of Columbia University. Pro-Palestine demonstrators rallied inside and outside of Columbia University in Manhattan, New York City condemning the Israel Defense Forces' military operations in Gaza. Since Wednesday, students and pro-Palestine activists inside the university have held a sit-in protest on the lawn, forming an encampment. The New York City Police Department arrested more than 100 activists from inside the campus on Thursday. Since the war started on October 7, 2023, Gaza's health ministry said more than 33,000 people have been killed in Gaza, a territory ruled by Hamas.
