The city has become a ghost town a year after Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Houses and apartment buildings have been destroyed or heavily damaged and shops are closed due to daily Russian bombardments. Orikhiv's remaining residents must regularly venture into the city in fear of the intense Russian attacks to reach distribution centers for humanitarian aid before returning to their homes as quickly as possible.
