19 August 2022, Brandenburg, Seelow: Soviet war technology from the Second World War is on the grounds of the memorial "Seelower Heights". Besides a howitzer "152-mm-Haubitze M1943 (D-1)" (l-r) and a projectile launcher "BM-13-16NM" also a T-34 tank. On the same day, the new memorial concept "Seelower Heights '45. Confronting the War - Preserving the Peace" was presented at a press conference. In order to be prepared for the coming years in terms of museum education and to be able to convey the historical events of the spring of 1945 in a contemporary manner, the District Administrator of Märkisch-Oderland, Schmidt (SPD), had initiated the development of a new exhibition concept. The new concept was developed by the association Zeitreise Seelower Höhen (ZSH) on behalf of the district of Märkisch-Oderland. About the history: The battlefield of the Seelower Heights is located in the Berlin hinterland. In spring 1945, the last field battle of the German war of extermination took place here.
