'Kamerad Martin', symbol for the mining workes in the region, standing on a well in the town of Gerbstedt, Germany, 25 April 2016. Below the city lies a historical basement which is part of the convent that supposedly was founded around 969 by Margrave Rikdag von Meissen for the Benedictines. Parts of the wide basement are still preserved and can be viewed during a visit to the museum. PHOTO: HENDRIK SCHMIDT/dpa
