Dr Ang Swee Chai, an orthopaedic surgeon and humanitarian, photographed on 27 March 2024. She went to Lebanon in 1982 to treat the wounded when Israel invaded the country. There, she worked in the hospital of the Sabra and Shatila refugee camp and witnessed, the massacre at the camp. She wrote the book "From Beirut To Jerusalem" (1989) which chronicles her account of the Sabra and Shatila massacre. She co-founded the charity Medical Aid for Palestinians in 1984. Dr Ang was in Singapore to receive the 2024 Fellow Award from the Harvard Club of Singapore.
