06 May 2024, Brandenburg, Seelow: The tower for a new wind turbine is being erected in the district of Märkisch-Oderland in East Brandenburg. According to the Bundesverband WindEnergie e.V. (BWE), the inland state of Brandenburg ranks second in the list of federal states with the largest installed capacity of wind turbines. A good third of its electricity requirements are generated from wind. With a total installed capacity of over 8,273 megawatts (MW), Brandenburg is now in second place after Lower Saxony.
