Cairo, Egypt - late 1980s - Jehan Sadat interviewed at her villa on the banks of the Nile. Egypt's former first lady and wife of former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, passed away 9 July 2021 in Cairo. Born 1933 in Cairo to an Egyptian father and British mother, Jehan married Sadat at 15 years of age. Jehan was more active than other Egyptian first ladies and was frequently photographed with her husband on official visits abroad and also on a more intimate level with the family.
